Kimya Dawson :: "Miami Advice" and Thunder Thighs

You probably know Kimya Dawson from at least one of a couple places: either as Adam Green's counterpart in the anti-folk duo The Moldy Peaches or as "that girl that sang that one song ("Anyone Else But You") in Juno." Since the Moldy Peaches went on hiatus in 2004, Dawson has continued releasing music under her own name, joined the K records team, and moved to the northwest. Two records, one marriage, one child, and one children's album later, Kimya Dawson is gearing up to release her fourth full-length record through K called Thunder Thighs.

Fresh out of the Dub Narcotic Studio, K has kindly sent over "Miami Advice," the first single from Thunder Thighs, which features Aesop Rock and the Olympia Free Choir. Dawson's signature sing/rap vocal hooks and quick witted lyrics come together nicely on this one. Thunder Thighs is expected to drop summer/fall 2011.

Kimya Dawson has yet to let me down, and now hearing this single I honestly can't wait for Thunder Thighs. It will, without a doubt, be Kimya at her best!
